Conditions

  • Back pain will affect most of us at least once in our lifetime. It is one of the most common causes of disability in the US. This is also one of the most common conditions chiropractors treat and can help.

  • Neck pain is very similar to back pain. Many of us will experience it, and it is also an incredibly common condition chiropractors treat and help.

  • Getting a headache is not normal. Yes, it is a common occurrence, but it should not happen daily or even weekly. Often headaches and migraines have a musculoskeletal component to them. Most of the time, the neck is involved. This is a very common condition we can help you with.

  • Sciatic pain is pain that shoots down the leg and can go all the way down to the foot. A lot of the time this is caused from the back. Sometimes it’s from a joint. Other times it's from a muscle. Sometimes it can even be occurring from out near the hip. Good thing is that regardless of where it is coming from, we can find it and help resolve it.

  • Maybe you have been told you have a slipped disc. Maybe an MRI showed you have a disc bulge or a disc herniation. All of this can be very painful. We have multiple ways in the office that we can help relieve the pain.

  • Arthritis doesn’t just mean you are getting old. It can also show up way earlier than normal if there has been trauma or injury to a joint. Once arthritis is present in a joint, you need to understand that the joint will never be perfect again. That doesn’t mean hope is lost. Arthritic joints can still be worked on. The best thing for arthritis is movement. Chiropractic adjustments restore movement and range of motion to joints. A moving joint is a happy joint. A happy joint significantly reduces the progression of arthritis. It also makes you feel a lot better.

  • Sports injuries can be just about anything. It could be a concussion, whiplash, a back injury, shoulder pain, and the list goes on and on. We love helping athletes recover from an injury. We also love helping athletes stay performing at their best. All of this can be achieved in our office.

  • Car accident injuries can be just about anything. It could be a concussion, whiplash, a back injury, shoulder pain, and the list goes on and on. Auto accident injuries can also take time to present themselves. Sometimes you will feel the injury immediately following the accident. Other times it may take over a year to present itself. If you have a new condition that you never experienced before, you have no known cause to it, but you were in a car accident within the last 2 years, there is a good probability the accident is a contributing factor. Please reach out to our office to determine if the accident is at fault for the injury. We will then do everything we can to get you feeling back to how you did prior to the accident.

  • Trauma can occur from even the silliest things. Maybe you tripped over a baby gate. You could have slipped carrying laundry down the stairs. I have even had patients injured after their dog pulled them to the ground while chasing a squirrel. Regardless of how the injury occurred, trauma is trauma. Trauma leads to injury. Injuries needs to be fixed. We can help. If a third party is responsible and there is a claim, we can also help.

  • We do work with some local workman's compensation networks. Please contact the office for more information. If you have a work injury that is less than 90 days old, you may not be able to be treated in our office. You must contact your employer's workman’s compensation company to determine where you are allowed to receive treatment. Once that injury is older than 90 days, you are then allowed to receive treatment at whatever facility you wish.  This would include our office.

  • Congratulations! If you aren’t feeling too many changes in your body yet, don’t worry, you will! The number one musculoskeletal problem from pregnancy is back pain with sciatica. Believe it or not, the number two most common musculoskeletal complaint during pregnancy is wrist pain. You may also get headaches, hip and leg pain, and much more. We can help with just about all of this. Please don’t worry. It is very safe and healthy for both the mother and child.

  • Shoulder pain could be from trauma, a rotator cuff injury or tear, bursitis, a sprain/strain, instability/dislocation issues, and more. Shoulders can be complicated, but it’s a good thing that we specialize in working on them. We actually have our own rehab program Dr K designed himself specifically for shoulder injuries.

  • You probably don’t think of a chiropractor when it comes to ways to help an elbow problem. We are very successful with these injuries. While there could be a multitude of injuries to an elbow, the most common is tendonitis. This can also be called golfers elbow or tennis elbow. We have a few soft tissue treatment protocols in the office we use to work on these patients.

  • Most people think of carpal tunnel as wrist pain. The diagnosis seems to get thrown around a little too loosely. Carpal tunnel should present with numbness into the hand accompanied by some muscle loss in the hand. If you do not have muscle loss or you have pain up into the forearm, you could be having something slightly different than carpal tunnel. Regardless of what it is, we can work on it. The most important thing is to first determine where the entrapment is occurring. Then we restore as much function to the area as we can.

  • There are 27 little bones in the wrist and hand. That means there’s a lot of little problems that can occur. Depending on what the cause is, just like with most musculoskeletal conditions, we have ways to help you feel better.

  • Back, hip, leg, knee, ankle, and foot all can go together. They form one big kinetic chain that go from the bottom of one foot, up to the back, and all the way down to the other foot. If anything along that kinetic chain has an issue, it can negatively impact any of the other areas of the chain. Our job is to not only work on and help relieve the pain in the area affected, but we must then determine and try to help the other areas along that chain that are contributing to the pain.

When it comes to foot health, we approach care here differently than most other health practitioners, including other chiropractors. We treat the foot just like any other musculoskeletal injury. We try to improve function and range of motion, and then we strengthen and exercise the area. We DO NOT recommend orthotics for most patients.

  • These are very common soft tissue injuries. Soft tissues injuries are something we specialize in. Regardless of what part of the body the sprain or strain is located, we have ways to help!

  • Having trouble or pain chewing? Do you get a lot of clicking and discomfort in your jaw? Yes, we as chiropractors can help! We combine some trigger point soft tissue release on the outside of the jaw, followed by some very light force instrument adjusting over the joint. Treatment is fast and quick, and results are awesome.

  • Whiplash is a significant trauma of the neck. Neck pain is one of our top conditions that we treat. Therefore, if you had a whiplash injury, a chiropractor should be in your treatment regimen.

  • Tendonitis is inflammation of a muscle tendon. Most of the time, this is caused from overuse or too much of a repetitive action. This is very common soft tissue injury that we are very successful at treating in the office.

  • Bursitis is inflammation of a fluid filled sac that sits between joints. This is often an overuse injury or from too much repetitive actions. Rest is a great way to work on these conditions, but we also have a few tools at the office we can utilize to help in recovery.

  • If you think you have a pinched nerve, then get in the office. We are excellent at determining where the nerve is compressed and restoring function to the area. Most of the time, patient's don't even make it to the checkout counter before they start feeling relief.

  • Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis that gets used more commonly than I would prefer. Sometimes, I feel as though the diagnosis is used when a doctor has ruled out most other diagnosis. Fibromyalgia represents with body aches and pains all over the body. Many times, this does not represent one specific condition. Often, we find that there are many different issues in the body occurring all at the same time. While they are affecting the patient together, they still need to be broken down into different components and worked on accordingly.

  • Scoliosis is a curvature issue of the spine. The spine, when looking at it front to back, forms an S shaped curve instead of being straight. This can cause the joints throughout the spine to have disfunctions that may lead to range of motion problems or generalized pain. It is important to see a chiropractor if you are diagnosed with scoliosis. The younger you start, the better. We can focus on keeping the joints moving as best as possible while trying to do exercises to get some postural correction.

  • Numbness in areas of the body, such as the arms and legs, usually means there is entrapment of a nerve occurring. This entrapment does not have to be where you specifically where you feel the numbness. Many times, the spine is responsible. Chiropractors are great at restoring function and movement of the spinal joints. This leads to a reduction of pressure over those nerves. Then we look for the numbness to decrease over time.

  • This is a painful one. If you are getting pain in your mid-back that wraps around your body to the front, you most likely have a rib issue. People have described this pain as feeling like they are getting stabbed. The pain can be so bad, it can hurt just from normal breathing. I have actually had patients with this condition who stated they thought they were having a heart attack. As painful as this condition is, it is actually one of the easiest ones to treat. When we adjust and work on the area, usually the pain resolves within 24 hours.

  • Let me start by saying this...I am NOT fixing your allergies. When someone is having a bad allergy attack, I do recommend coming in to the office for treatment. Yes, treatment on the neck has shown to help at times. We do a little bit more here. We can actually perform an adjustment on the ears that help relieve pressure and allow sinuses to drain. I also have a special technique that involves working on the cranial bones of the head. When you combine this cranial work with some trigger point work, the results for allergies can be dramatic. I have actually had patients sit up and drain immediately to the point of demanding a tissue right away.

  • Do you feel dizzy? Maybe you feel like the room is spinning. Vertigo can be very uncomfortable and debilitating. There are many factors that can contribute to your vertigo. We may be able to help. If there is head pressure and congestion or a neck/upper cervical factor to the dizzy spell, let us see if treatment can help!
