Understanding the nuances of ankle injuries, their common causes, and our holistic chiropractic approach at Keep it Kinetic will guide you towards optimal recovery and renewed agility.

Understanding Ankle Pain:

The ankle is a intricate joint connecting the foot to the leg, facilitating essential movements like walking, running, and jumping. Ankle injuries can result from a variety of causes, impacting individuals of all ages and activity levels.

Common Causes of Ankle Injuries:

  • Sprains: Sudden twists, rolls, or impacts can lead to ligament sprains, causing pain, swelling, and instability.

  • Fractures: Direct trauma or excessive force on the ankle can result in fractures, impacting the bones and surrounding structures.

  • Tendonitis: Overuse or repetitive stress on the tendons surrounding the ankle can cause inflammation, resulting in pain and limited mobility.

  • Instability: Weakened ligaments due to previous injuries or genetic factors can lead to chronic ankle instability, increasing the risk of further injuries.

    Recognizing Symptoms:

Identifying the early signs of ankle injuries is crucial for timely intervention and effective treatment:

  • Pain and Swelling: Persistent pain, swelling, or tenderness around the ankle area may indicate an underlying issue.

  • Difficulty in Movement: Limited range of motion, stiffness, or difficulty bearing weight on the affected ankle may suggest ligament or bone involvement.

  • Instability: Feeling wobbly or unsteady on the ankle, especially during movement, could indicate weakened ligaments.

FINAL NOTE

Reading all of the above may still leave you with answers as to whether or not a person with your condition can receive care. The BEST way to determine this is to simply schedule a new patient consultation and examination in the office. During this visit we will be able to determine if you are a candidate to receive care in the office and in what ways we can help.
