RIB PAIN

Welcome to Keep it Kinetic Chiropractic, where your musculoskeletal health is our primary focus. In this exploration, we address a common yet often overlooked concern—rib pain. Understanding the intricate connection between the spine, ribs, and surrounding muscles, and the personalized chiropractic approach we offer at Keep it Kinetic, will guide you toward relief, resilience, and optimal rib function.

Understanding Rib Pain:

Rib pain can manifest as discomfort, tenderness, or sharp sensations in the chest or back, often making breathing and movement challenging. This pain may stem from various sources, including musculoskeletal issues, trauma, or underlying medical conditions.

Common Causes of Rib Pain:

  • Muscle Strain: Overexertion, sudden movements, or poor posture can strain the muscles around the ribs, leading to pain and discomfort.

  • Rib Subluxation: Misalignments or subluxations in the rib joints can cause localized pain and restrict normal rib movement.

  • Trauma or Injury: Direct impact or trauma to the chest area, such as a fall or sports injury, can result in rib pain.

  • Thoracic Spine Issues: Problems in the thoracic spine, such as herniated discs or spinal misalignments, can radiate pain to the ribs.

Recognizing Symptoms:

Identifying the early signs of rib pain is crucial for prompt intervention and effective treatment:

  • Localized Discomfort: Pain or tenderness in specific areas of the chest or back, often worsened by movement or deep breaths.

  • Difficulty Breathing: Painful breathing or discomfort while taking deep breaths may indicate rib-related issues.

  • Muscle Tension: Increased muscle tension or spasms around the ribs, restricting movement and exacerbating pain.

FINAL NOTE

Reading all of the above may still leave you with answers as to whether or not a person with your condition can receive care. The BEST way to determine this is to simply schedule a new patient consultation and examination in the office. During this visit we will be able to determine if you are a candidate to receive care in the office and in what ways we can help.
