SPRAINS

Welcome to Keep it Kinetic Chiropractic, where we prioritize your musculoskeletal health through personalized care. In this exploration, we focus on the common yet impactful injuries of sprains and strains. Understanding the intricacies of these conditions, their causes, and our tailored chiropractic approach at Keep it Kinetic will guide you towards a life of balance and optimal well-being.

Understanding Sprains and Strains:

Sprains and strains are prevalent injuries affecting the ligaments, tendons, and muscles, often resulting from sudden twists, falls, or overexertion during physical activities. Despite their similarities, these injuries differ in the tissues they affect.

Sprains: Involving ligaments, which are the tough, fibrous tissues connecting bones to each other, sprains result from the stretching or tearing of these ligaments.

Strains: Affecting muscles and tendons, which attach muscles to bones, strains occur when these tissues are stretched or torn due to excessive force or repetitive movements.

Common Causes of Strains:

  • Sprains: Common causes include sudden twists, falls, or impacts that force the joint out of its normal position. Symptoms often include pain, swelling, bruising, and joint instability.

  • Strains: Repetitive motions, overuse, or lifting heavy objects can lead to muscle or tendon strains. Symptoms may include muscle spasms, swelling, and localized pain.

FINAL NOTE

Reading all of the above may still leave you with answers as to whether or not a person with your condition can receive care. The BEST way to determine this is to simply schedule a new patient consultation and examination in the office. During this visit we will be able to determine if you are a candidate to receive care in the office and in what ways we can help.
