Welcome to Keep it Kinetic Chiropractic, where your journey to musculoskeletal well-being is our top priority. Understanding the intricacies of whiplash, its causes, and our compassionate chiropractic approach at Keep it Kinetic will guide you toward recovery, resilience, and a pain-free life.
Understanding Whiplash:
Whiplash is a common injury that occurs when the neck is subjected to a sudden and forceful back-and-forth motion, often experienced in car accidents or high-impact incidents. This rapid movement can lead to strain and damage to the muscles, ligaments, discs, and other structures in the neck.
Common Causes of Whiplash:
Automobile Accidents: Rear-end collisions are a frequent cause of whiplash, where the sudden acceleration and deceleration can strain the neck.
Sports Injuries: High-impact sports or activities that involve sudden stops or changes in direction can result in whiplash injuries.
Physical Assault: Any forceful blow to the head or neck, such as during physical altercations, can cause whiplash.
Recognizing Symptoms:
Identifying the early signs of whiplash is crucial for prompt intervention and effective treatment:
Neck Pain and Stiffness: Persistent pain and stiffness in the neck, often worsening with movement, may indicate whiplash.
Headaches: Frequent headaches, especially originating from the base of the skull, can be a symptom of whiplash-related issues.
Limited Range of Motion: Difficulty in turning or tilting the head, along with general mobility restrictions, may be indicative of whiplash injuries.
